Well last night I went on the Cricut website. I happened to stumble upon a challenge page. They challenged people to make 15-30-50 blank cards which would be sent to military members, so they could write home to their loved ones. They wanted Halloween, Fall, B-day, thinking of you cards, etc. It could be anything you wanted to make, but you ship it to wherever they designate. I thought this was pretty cool, so I signed up to make 15 cards. That was realistic for me since I am starting back to school. So last night I started working on them, and I was able to crank out 6 cards before I got tired and fell asleep. I surprised myself. I might end up making more afterall. So here are the cards I made last night. Let me know if you like them or if you would like more information to participate in this challenge. I think it ends in 4 weeks.
I just finished cleaning up all the dead ants that invaded my house yesterday. There were all these litlle ant-i-bodies all over the place---I know that was cheesey, but I had to get it in there.

Sorry about the technical difficulties. I've sent in a request to Weebly to have the blog looked at. If you're reading this you found the temporary fix. Congratulations.
I went back to school on Thursday. There's always a great energy buzzing around a school when the 1st day of school arrives. I don't know what will happen this year, but we are going to keep moving forward. My plan is to work on the website/craft stuff after work until I have to stop to fix dinner for my hubby. I'm in the process of uploading more scrapbook pages into the store and organizing them by theme. It's all done behind the scenes, but I'll let you know when it's done. I'm also going to upload some of those cards I made on the plane. If you haven't already checked out my scrapbooks...head on over there now. For now here is a sneak peak of what is to come. Hi there,
I almost killed myself a few minutes ago. I stepped on the wheel of my rolling chair and slipped and ended up doing the splits in the middle of my craft room. Fortunately for me I'm Ok. I know that doesn't surprise half of you, after all my nickname in high school was clutz/clumsy. Anyways I was quite productive today. I just figured out how to enlarge the pictures on my website using Photobucket. I experimented around with it and I think it will work. It will take some time to get all of the images uploaded on to Photobucket and then linked over to this website. Hopefully, by the end of September or sooner I will have this fully functional. The only problem is that the enlarged items will be side ways...for some reason Photobucket is not saving the pictures if I rotate them. I also finished up the cards I started making while I was a mile up on an airplane. How cool is that? I'm still amazed they turned out this good. I still can't believe I made almost 75 cards while I was on the plane or in between flights. I finished up most of my grandma's order of 50 cards before I even got off the plane!!! I love my CDS!!! It is such a time saver. I enlarged most of the sayings on Wild Card and about 6-8 sayings on one sheet of paper using the CDS. Then I'd open another new page under that one and add more phrases. Do it again. Then with only 3 sheets of paper I start cutting out all the phrases I need for all these cards. It saved so much time not switching cartridges and none of the paper goes to waste. Here's what you came for. The flowers are stickers and the ladybugs and the bees were felt stickers. Enjoy and let me know if you like them. I am so excited...today I finally recieved my cricut design studio (CDS) software. This is what my DH gave me for my anniversary...actually I ordered it and I let him give it to me...it works out well because then I get what I want. For those of you that don't know CDS allows you to weld together images from different cricut cartridges to form a unique design. I had created some files using the trial version and I finally broke down and bought the software on EBAY. After I called and activated the software, I have been happily creating some really cool designs. Check them out: These were all made with George Basic Shapes. You can personalize anything to what you need. It is awesome!!! I got wild and crazy with the CDS and made this cool title. As I was experimenting with the CDS I figured out that you can copy the image from the 1st pg, open up a new page and copy it in there and when you run it through the machine with the 2nd color it will print out the next color (This one had 4 colors and cuts). It was fun making my own designs. Watch out when you start using this software. It is addicting and you lose track of time quickly. But the results are amazing. And the best thing is that since I saved the file, I will never have to re-do the design...all I have to do is put in my paper and start cutting away. Before I got CDS, I hated all the disney character cartridges. It would frustrate me to keep switching paper and then I'd lose 1/2 the little pieces. I was able to make several winnie the pooh designs at the same time, with CDS which saved me a ton of time and paper. How cool is that! (Tip: You can get the right size shirt by moving it over image on the 1st page and sizing it up the right way, then you copy it and paste it on a new page. I labeled my pages by color so when I saved it I'd know exactly what colors I'd need for future projects...I'm going to do the same for the rest of my pooh cartridges.) With the jos of the season and the Christmas solutions cartridge I was all to make some unique Christmas die cuts to put on future cards. I love the way they came out. I made these unique Christmas designs and I'm going to be putting them on Christmas Gift Bags. I'm blown away by what the Cricut can do. Below are 2 more. |
