Can you please pray for my mom? She had open heart Surgery on Saturday and is in the ICU for another couple of days. I'm probably not going to be posting new pictures for awhile. I may even cancel the show I was supposed to do for the Humane Society this weekend. Life just has a way of helping you see what is really important and right now I'm just trusting God to see my family through all of this. Give your family a hug and remind them you love them for me. Thanks.
Hello!!! I am really enjoying my new Cricut Expression. Some of the cartridges like Wild Card and the Boxes and Tags catridge work a lot better on this machine. It's also saved me time, because I don't have to cut the papers in half any more.
This week I worked on putting together another name book. I met a lady at a craft show and she wanted me to make some stuff for her grand daughters. I just finished the name book for her. She said that her grand daughter liked butterflies, pink and purple. So I designed a book that incorporated those ideas into it. I like the way it turned out. I met her grand daughter at the craft show and she liked arts and crafts a lot, so I decided to include some butterfly stickers that she could add to her book herself. I think she is really going to like it.
I need to start getting more Easter stuff together. I'm going to try to the craft show at the Escondido Humane Society again the first Saturday in April. Hopefully it doesn't get rained out again. We've had more rain this spring then we did all winter.
Here's the pictures. I got to go get dinner ready. Have a good week.
Hello!!! I'm so excited! On Friday I bought a new Cricut Expression. I was using the baby Cricut and it was starting to die on me. It made these super loud noises and it was about to croak soon. I had been looking around for one for awhile now. I got the Expression Pink Journey from Michael's. They had a huge sale here and were selling it for $100 off the original price. I think I got a great deal and it is going to pay for itself soon. It has already saved me a ton of time and paper because I don't have to cut the paper in half anymore.
It came with 3 catridges. It has Accent Essentials (that didn't look too interesting to me), Plantin Schoolbook (a letter cartridge), and Pink Journey (the cancer cartridge---the reason why I bought the Expression). I am looking forward to making up some new projects with these cartridges. The Pink Journey is going to come in handy because I met up with a lady at the Elks Lodge that invited me to participate in 3 Breast Cancer craft fair fundraisers. So hopefully I'll be making some of those projects soon.
My first project on the new machine was a request for a client that wanted some baby shower favors. They have a cool button on the Expression that isn't on the personal Cricut. The "quantity" button allows you to indicate how many of each design you want and then the machine just cuts it for you. I was able to cut out all the circles and scallops faster than I ever did on the other machine. I do like the way the personal machine opened the lid when you turned it on. I don't like the way the expression opens up, but that is so minor compared to everything else it does. I can't wait to play around with it some more.
Here are the pictures. Enjoy and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Toodles!!!
Hello!!! Hope you are having a great week. I'm finally going to load the pictures of the mint favors that I keep telling you about.
I decided to make these favors for a couple of reasons. First I had a huge box of mints that I bought and I had to do something with them. Second I wanted to pratice with some of the stamps that I haven't used in forever. I also had a bunch of brads that I didn't know what to use them on, so I decided to make a bunch of these favors. If you ever want any let me know. They are great for favors at birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, holidays, thank you gifts, weddings, or just because.
So enjoy the pictures and be sure to share them with your friends. Have a great week.
Hi! I know I haven't been writing much. I've been swamped. I was a vendor at the Vista Elk Lodge this weekend. It went really well. I had a lot of fun, meet some really cool people, and sold alot of stuff. Actually, this was the very first time that I actually made my booth rental fee, so I was excited.
This week I really wish I could quit my day job and do crafts full time. But the reality is that I'd be living off of cat food and in a box if I tried to quit right now. Some day...that's my ultimate dream at this point. I guess for now I'll just keep making some projects to post for you and keep dreaming. I keep telling my husband that he needs to become independently wealthy, so I can quit my job...but he doesn't seem to follow my advice...go figure.
Anyways here's the completed name books and some of the favors that I've been working on. Enjoy, be inspired, and remeber if I can do this, then so can you. Enjoy the rest of your week!!!
It seems like it's been forever since I've posted anything. I've been swamped with work, trying to get stuff ready for a show, and trying to get orders made. It's a good kind of busy, but I miss being able to do crafts and blog about them.
So here is what is going on in my world. This Saturday I'm going to the Vista Elk's Lodge for a Craft show (1947 E. Vista Way, Vista CA). So I'd love if you came over and stopped by to chat. It seems like I've done a 100 parent meetings this year at the school. Last weekend, the Escondido Humane Society show was cancelled for rain again, so I did my cooking for the month. I'm still trying finish up these name books. I'm trading the books for a banner that I can use at the craft shows. I like doing these custom order books. They're great gifts for baby showers, birthdays, mother's day, graduation, retirement, or any other occassion you can think of. It's fun to put everything together, and see the smiles it brings. Everyone seems to like them. It takes a while to put them together, but they look so good when they are all done. I have to contact the customer and see how they want the pages inside personalized. But I thought you might enjoy seeing them.
I've also been making a bunch of mint favors for this craft show. I just wanted to make something cute for people to give away to friends and family. I gave a couple of the lollipops to some of my co-workers today, and they said it was too cute to eat.
I have to go start loading up my car. Here are the pictures of the name books and pictures of the table for my craft display. I'll post the mint favors another day. Enjoy the pictures and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend with your friends and family.
Hi there! Sorry I've been MIA. I haven't had much time to play around with my crafts. I workeed on orders for other people and have had a bunch of meetings at the school. Some days I wish I quit my day job and just do this full time. But then I remeber I have to pay the bills, and reality forces me to keep working at the school.
Anyways, I don't have too much to show you. They postponed the craft show at the Humane Society because of rain again. Next week I am supposed to do a show at the Vista Elks Lodge. Hope the weather will cooperate. I need to earn some money to support my craft supply addiction.
Since I don't have anything new, I'll show you some pictures of some completed projects. Awhile back I had a friend that was doing a baby shower. She sent me the pictures of the banner and the favors I made and how they decorated the place with them. It looks great. She said all of the guests loved the decorations and wanted to know who made them.
I also finished the favors for my other client and I'll show you some pictures of how those favors turned out. She had also asked me to make some cupcake toothpicks with the same design, so I'll include those pictures also.
That should be enough for now. Hopefully the next time you come back to visit, I will have designed something new. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Tommorrow I'm picking up my new Stampin it Up products that I ordered. I'm so excited. Hope to have some new ideas/projects ready for you soon.
