Do It Yourself Kits (DIY)

My first sale was for a do it yourself kit. The customer needed to make some birthday invitations with monkeys and bananas. I sent her a sample picture of the different monkeys that I could cut with my cricut. Through e-mail I gave her the option of making the cards herself or I could make them for her. She chose to make the cards herself and then she requested some palm tree leaves. I looked through my cartridges and found what would work and made the pieces she requested. I think she ordered 25 monkeys ($0.30/ea), 39 bananas ($0.15/ea), and 50 leaves ($0.05/ea). The prices varied depending on the size/time it took to make it and were discussed through e-mail. I hand delivered them because she lived 2 blocks away from me.

Fire Truck theme
A friend asked me to make a fire truck theme for her son's birthday. This is what I came up with. I didn't have a fire truck on any of my cartridges, so I made one with the design studio software. I think it turned out adorable. To see the rest of the pictures that I used as samples for this DIY kit see blog dated 8/14/09.
If you'd like any DIY kit of any theme, give me a couple of days to look through my cartridges to see if I can come up with somthing. And even if I don't have it I'll try to make one up....just like I did with this project and the monkey centerpieces. Cricut Design Studio Software
Last month, a customer made a special request to order some of the items that she had seen on the Cricut Design Studio Software Link. I had just put up the website and I was going on vacation to Chicago the next day. I e-mailed her my schedule and told her that I would make up her order and send it out when I got back from vacation. As soon as I got back home, I e-mailed her, confirmed the order, and figured out how to send an invoice to her through Paypal. She didn't have a Paypal account. So I let her pay with a money order. I mailed her order out the day after I recieved the money order. The order consisted of 16 items. I initally made conact with her on Aug 14 and the order was shipped out on Sept 1. Even with a week long vacation in between, I was still able to fulfill her order in a reasonable amount of time.
