For Mother's Day, my mom and I started a new tradition in our family. The day before Mother's Day all of my aunts and female cousins get together for a Mother-Daughter Tea Party. We've been doing this for 10 years now. It's been such a blessing. We had more pictures of my grandma at these tea parties and such fond memories of her because of this new tradition within our family. It has also ministered to my family because 2 years ago my grandma passed away. It was hard to let go, but there was much healing for everyone at the tea party held almost a year later. These tea parties were also helpful to me and my mom during the times that she had to go through chemo and now this year she had open heart surgery. It is so nice that we have family that we can lean on during times of great rejoicing and during the tough times.
I better upload these pictures before I'm late to work. Have a great day and remeber to honor your mom this Mother's Day and if she's not around, take the time to rember all the good times that you spent together---that's how to keep her memory alive. We all still need our mothers no matter how old we are.
