Well last weekend I went to our annual Mother Daughter Tea Party. It was so nice to see my family again. I had to leave early to go to a show in the evening....I probably should have stayed there. But I already made a commitment.
Tommorrow I have a show at Holmes Elementary School in La Jolla. I still haven't packed up the car. I still have to finish the bookmarks that I started making for the show. This week has been crazy. My husband just helped me fix the peg board stand. We came up with a different way to set up the booth, so I had to learn how to stage everything on there with the different set up. It turned out cool.
Yesterday I got an order for some graduation favors, which I just finished. I think they turned out great. I'll send them out at the begining of the week. Things are getting hectic. Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do for next school year. Don't know if I want to go back or try to do this full time or get a completely different job. It's a scary and exciting time. I guess that's how most of our graduating seniors are feeling. Thankful to be done with school, but scared to answer the question "What are you going to do next?". Then there's always the fear of getting a new job to pay off those college loans. With the economy the way it is, it won't be easy for these graduates. My brother works at a shipping yard in San Diego and they are looking to lay off 1,100 employees. Supposedly the economy is getting better...tell that to someone getting laid off. The schools here in California are also having to do a lot of layoffs because of budget cuts. It's not going to be easy.
The good news is that for most people life keeps going on. We have to be thankful for whatever roof we have over our head, our health, and the family and friends that help us through the most difficult days. I know the only thing that keeps me going is knowing God is in control and I can lean on Him for strength for each new day. That hope helps me get up in the morning and keeps me going no matter what is thrown at me. Don't know how I ever survived without God's help before.
I have to go pack the car. So here are the pictures of the graduation favors and my new booth set up. Have a restful weekend and enjoy the time off with your family and friends. Take it easy.
